This hands on experience of an outstanding school aims to support teachers and leaders with practical ways to effectively deploy LSAs and TAs. During the morning, there will be an opportunity to observe discussions between teachers and LSAs and observe the ways TAs and LSAs are deployed both during inputs and when supporting individuals and groups of children. You will learn about how to ensure LSAs and TAs work together with class teachers to support children of a range of abilities, provide feedback to children within lessons and take an active part in the learning at all times. The training will also support teachers and leaders with timetabling, including interventions, induction and strategies to provide CPD.
This course aims to support senior leaders, subject leaders and teachers to develop their wider curriculum provision. You will have the opportunity to see the wider curriculum in practice in order to see in action what will be discussed. The course will outline the journey of our school and the steps taken to ensure our children have a broad and balanced wider curriculum with a clear intent. It will look at timetabling, how we cover the National Curriculum and the assessment of all of the National Curriculum subjects. In addition, we will look at the planning and leadership of wider curriculum subjects, observe teaching in these subjects and look at work in books. This hands on experience of an outstanding school means that you will leave with practical ideas all of which can be adapted to suit the context and needs of your school.
This course aims to support leaders and teachers to develop their maths provision. You will have the opportunity to see outstanding maths teaching and learning in practice in order to see in action what will be discussed. The course will outline how to ensure a consistent approach to maths teaching with practical ideas for planning, teaching and strategies to improve outcomes across the school all of which can be adapted and implemented in your school. As well as observing lessons and talking to children about their learning, you will be able to look at examples of planning and work in books.
This course aims to support teachers and leaders to improve how English is delivered in their schools. As part of the course, there will be an opportunity to see outstanding teaching of reading and writing; this will allow you time to ask the pupils about their learning but also see our aims as a school in practice. During the morning, you will see how English is planned and look at work in children’s books. At the end of the morning, there will be time to discuss and consider how to implement the practical ideas you have seen within your own school setting.
