This term we will be exploring the question ‘Are goodies always good and are baddies always bad?’ We will be looking at a number of fairytales to enable us to answer our question. Our learning will start with an exciting fairytale day, where we will be immersed in the fairytales and come to school as fairytale characters. We will also get the chance to watch a performance of Hansel and Gretal, we can’t wait! Our learning will culminate in a performance to you the parents, sharing the stories we have learnt!
In maths this term we will be securing of numbers to 10 and extending to 20. We will be thinking about one more and one less and adding and subtracting within 20. Please help your child practise counting, writing and reading numbers to 20 as often as possible. In English we will be immersing ourselves in a range of fairytales to ensure we continue to develop the phonic skills needed to read and write sentences. Reading continues to play a vital role in our learning and we hope to broaden the children's experience of authors and genres. Through our key question we will be focusing on morals, being a ‘good’ person and developing a sense of self.
