Topic: The enchanted wood!
In English we will be writing simple labels and captions. Looking at poetry linked to our senses and discovering traditional stories.
We will be learning one more and one less with numbers up to 20. Learning to use equipment to help us with our maths work, such as number lines and Numicon. Finally we will be looking into the properties of shape and pattern work.
Science will be very much linked to ourselves and we will be investigating all things to do with our senses. We will be smelling, taste testing going on sound walks and exploring animals and nature linked to our woodland topic.
In geography we will use Google maps to show where we live and look.
Art, Design and Technology
In art and design we will be drawing trees and creating work linked to our topic.
We will be choosing materials to make our own model enchanted woods.
In music we will be exploring different tempos and rhythms.
We will continue to develop our physical skills, through gymnastics and game skills. In gymnastics we will be focusing on different ways of travelling and sequencing.
In PSHE/philosophy we will be exploring who is important to us, school rules and what we are good at.
In RE we will be learning about signs and symbols and Christianity. In addition to this we will delve into the Christmas story and learn about the beliefs surrounding this.
We will be familiarising ourselves with netbooks and Learnpads and using them for research purposes in our topics. Also, we’ll be exploring basic algorithms.
Visits and visitors
We’ll visit Bewilderwood and a local nursery to share our model enchanted woods.
Spiritual, moral, social and cultural
We will continue to learn how to support each other socially and in our learning. We will promote our learning powers and be the best we can be!
